When Hurricane Michael crashed to shore, the marina at Port St. Joe took a near-direct hit.
The devastation was immense, but there was at least one bright spot as one of our Nordhavn 40 sister ships, Inspiration, survived with minimal damage — “a few scrapes and a wet carpet,” according to her owners, Curtis and Marcia Low.
The image above, showing Inspiration still intact and floating amongst the wreckage even while the storm raged around her, caught the attention of many as it circulated the internet.
The image below, taken by the Lows and shared at the Nordhavn site, shows what they saw at the demolished marina when they were finally able to get into the area to check on their sweet boat.
Nordhavn’s truly are tough little ships and the company isn’t just boasting when they claim that their yachts are “Oceans Apart From the Rest“!
